Obviously Vick would probably prefer to line up as a quarterback, but if he is picked up by a team he should be open to a position change given his current situation. To me Vick was never a "quarterback", he's a very talented athlete who can adapt adequately to several positions. Personally, I would be interested in seeing how Vick would pan out as a RB or even a WR (although I'm not familiar with his ability to catch). Just imagine how dangerous an offense would be if it had two NFL caliber quarterbacks on the field at all times.

As for your second question, personally I do not see the reason why you can't line up any player in any position you want as it stands. Most NFL level athletes have enough raw athletic talent to transition from position to position within a single season if it is so required. Using Vick as an example, if he is picked up as a RB or WR, what would happen to his fantasy owners if he suddenly finds himself the starting quarterback due to the starter's injury or poor performance. Or, to go beyond just multiple position eligibility, it would take a lot of work, but why shouldn't a WR who throws a pass in a trick play (see Randle El in SuperBowl XL) receive fantasy points to reflect yards gained as a quarterback would. To answer your question, I do see changes in FF scoring to address these issues as FF continues to grow and expand.Juliann L. Who knows how long it will take for him to get that opportunity.

Juliann, do you think Vick could potentially end up at a different position? It seems like the Wildcat formation was made for his skillset and the Dolphins even spent a 2nd round pick on Pat White this spring, who is built exactly like Vick.

And from a more general fantasy perspective, what happens when the distinction between WR, RB, and QB gets fuzzier? Will we eventually see players with multiple position eligibility?Mike Colliganhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09393346863702620793noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3262642253132428338.post-76946554589983099112009-08-03T03:57:49.858-04:002009-08-03T03:57:49.858-04:00People do stupid things especially when they are y...People do stupid things especially when they are young. I am not defending Vick here, and I think what he has done is wrong, but lets face it. Done it, paid for it and its over.Fineblogsitehttp://www.fineblogsite.com/noreply@blogger.com
