The Mulligan: Precision Golf in Tampa is Tradition

This week the Tour heads to Tampa for the Traditions Championship. The Copperhead Course at Innisbrook is a course for players who hit precise, patient shots. For this reason, I like Jim Furyk and K.J. Choi this week.

I like Jim Furyk this week because he is simply overdue. If you have watched his last few rounds of golf, he has been striking the ball extremely well. I think Furyk is poised for a Top-10 finish this week in Tampa.

K. J. Choi has won this tournament twice, and he is a good pick this week. He is 28th in driving accuracy and has 3 top 15 finishes so far in 2009. Fantasy golfers should put him in their lineup this week.

If you want a sleeper pick for fantasy golf, I once again point you to Mark Calcavecchia. He won this tournament 2 years ago, and is very comfortable playing in his back yard in Florida. Give him a look if you want to go out on a limb.
