The Real World of Sports Law: Madison Square Garden v. NHL

For those of you interested in a real sports law case, Judge Loretta Preska of the Southern District of New York recently granted in part, and rejected in part, the National Hockey League's motion to dismiss Madison Square Garden's antitrust lawsuit against the league. This means that Madison Square Garden--the parent company for the New York Rangers--will be allowed to proceed with their challenge to the NHL rule requiring them to give up control of their team's formerly independent website.
