O'Malley's Tallies: Week 10 -- TJ Runs Wild

Here is Week 10's STUDS and DUDS in this edition of "O.T's"....

STUDS

1. Thomas Jones – So much for that 1 touchdown campaign last season that everyone seemed to harp on! During Sunday’s 47-3 DRUBBING of the St. Louis Rams, Mr. Jones reached the endzone 3 times (5 times in his last 4 games) and gained over 140 yards on the ground to help improve Gang Green to 6-3. While the O-Line has been heavily criticized at times for their pass blocking issues, their run blocking has been exceptional opening many holes for T.J. nearly the entire season. While fantasy owners have had every right to be extremely satisfied the past month, they all may have to cross their fingers for it to continue with their next 2 games being at New England and Tennessee.

2. Marc Bradley – After seeing the name Marc Bradley appear on your computer screen this morning, I know many first reactions might have prompted you all to shout, “WHO!?” However, in actuality, this Kansas City wide receiver (former of the Chicago Bears) was clearly Tyler Thigpen’s #1 target Sunday vs. the Chargers. In total, Bradley hauled in 9 balls for 81 yards and a touchdown and was targeted on a number of other attempts as well. While we all know Dwayne Bowe is clearly Kansas City’s #1 receiver, I would definitely recommend adding Bradley in all PPR and 12 team leagues as soon as possible.

3. Kellen Winslow – During Thursday’s night game between the Browns and the Broncos, it seemed like Brown’s QB Brady Quinn would have thrown the ball to Kellen Winslow EVERY time if he could. Making his first NFL start at QB, Quinn made sure he got the ball to his security blanket tight end whenever he could. In total, K2 finished the game with 10 catches for 111 yards and 2 scores, providing a much needed breakout performance for fantasy owners all over. With Quinn clearly locked in on #80, Winslow makes for a great start Monday Night vs. the banged up Bills secondary.

4. Eddie Royal – So remember when I said a few weeks back that Donnie Avery of the St. Louis Rams might be the next rookie receiver the crack the 1,000 yard mark? Ahh..well...I think I might have picked the wrong rookie. That rookie which I meant to choose is actually Denver wide receiver Eddie Royal, who quickly has become a WR2 in almost all leagues. In Thursday night’s game vs. the Browns, Royal hauled in 9 passes for 164 yards and a score, bringing his yard total for the year up to 625. Playing in a division in which pass defense is far from stellar, Royal should every opportunity to break the 1,000 yard plateau going forward…

5. Maurice Jones-Drew – If I am going to have a player on my “DUD” list after a bad week, it is only fairly to put him on the “STUD” list if he makes up for it. That is exactly what happened with MJD on Sunday in the Jaguar’s dismantling of the woeful Lions. While he only had 11 carries, he definitely made the most of them by gaining 70 yards and reaching the endzone 3 times. While Detroit’s defense may not be the best indicator of a running back’s talent, the real litmus test will occur next week in the big division clash between the Jags and the Titans.

DUDS

1. Oakland – Enough said.

2. Greg Jennings – Throughout all of Sunday’s game vs. the Vikings, the Packer’s offense as a whole looked extremely sloppy. Playing in Brett Favre’s former “House of Horrors” in Minnesota, nothing seemed to click at all, especially for Greg Jennings. Averaging over 90 yards a game coming into the contest, Jennings was held to a meager 3 catches for 37 yards and no touchdowns vs. the Vikes. With zero touchdowns in his last three games, owners of #85 definitely should start to worry as playoff time quickly approaches..

3. Braylon Edwards – With Champ Bailey in street clothes and the rest of the Denver defense getting blasted each and every week, you had to figure this week could be a breakout for Braylon Edwards. Instead, he ended the game with 1 catch for 15 yards and no touchdown. Not really the breakout we all had in mind is it???

4. Sage Rosenfels – While he may have thrown for almost 300 yards vs. Baltimore on Sunday, it is the 4 interceptions that is absolutely inexcusable for Sage Rosenfels. With Matt Schaub down for a number of games with an injury, Sage is definitely going to have to limit the turnovers going forward if this team has ANY chance of even sniffing a playoff spot. It is performances like this one that make me choose Houston as the most inconsistent team of 2008 without question..

TILL NEXT TIME! THANKS FOR READING!!
